Training funds often collect small amounts of employer contributions compared to pension or health and welfare funds.  Therefore, are payroll audits not cost effective for training funds?

Training fund payroll audits are seldom performed as stand alone audits.  Normally the payroll audits for related plans are performed at the same time as the training fund payroll audit.  The cost of the payroll audit can then be shared by the funds in proportion to each fund’s employer contribution rate.
